Do My Prayers Make a Difference?

April 5, 2024

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He (Jesus) went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Mark 1:35

Over 36 years ago, as a freshman in college, I surrendered my heart to Christ, and God radically transformed my Life. He gave me a new heart, a new life, and a new reason to live!

The weight of my sin had been lifted and I began my new life with Jesus… but I remember hitting a wall early on in my walk when it came to prayer. I often felt as though my prayers weren’t going beyond the ceiling. I remember wondering if God was too busy to care about my prayers.

Can you relate?

Despite this, almost all of us have, at some point, fallen to our knees, bowed our heads, focused on God, and prayed. Why? Because God innately placed the desire to reach out to Him for help within us!

Friend, the truth is, God delights in answering your prayers. He is our Father and His power and presence—found through prayer—can handle any difficulty, dilemma, or discouragement. I’ve seen this countless times in my own life. In fact, I’ve heard it said, when we work, we work; but when we pray, God works.

Fortunately, Jesus modeled to us what it looks like to seek God in prayer! In Mark 1:35, we see that in the midst of healing many people and preaching in Galilee, Jesus went out and departed to a solitary place, where He prayed.

Be encouraged today, and don’t wait any longer. You can dive into the rich, abundant prayer life God wants you to enjoy today! To discover how to connect with God our Father like never before, dive into this message with me…
