This Tool Will Help Your Relationships 🛠️

October 18, 2024

For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

James 3:2

Did you know our words don’t start in our mouth or mind? They actually start in our hearts. Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:35, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”

You see friends, our words are far more than words. Jesus is showing us the heart is the seedbed of what comes out of our mouths. Good hearts lead to good words, and vice versa. We mature in our walk with Christ by allowing Him to first change our hearts—and our words will follow.

I have been a Christian for well over three decades, and allowing God to change my heart and words has been a process. The longer I walk with Him, the more I see my words need to be filled with the life of God. Something that has helped me is to T-H-I-N-K before I speak. Before speaking into an important situation, I ask these five questions:

T – is it True?
H – is it Helpful?
I – is it Inspiring?
N – is it Necessary?
K – is it Kind?

Over the coming days, I encourage you to use the T-H-I-N-K framework in your own life and watch how your relationships improve! To learn more about the power of extraordinary words and how you can invite God to transform your heart and words, dive into this message with me…
