Are You Unknowingly Drinking Poison? ☠️

July 5, 2024

“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”

Jesus—Matthew 6:12

Shortly after surrendering my heart to Christ, a mentor told me, “Steve, harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer the consequences.”

You see, I was in a deep disagreement with a close friend at the time, and I had allowed unforgiveness to fester in my heart. Fortunately, after processing the situation with my trusted friend and bringing it to God in prayer, I was able to forgive and move forward.

Did you know forgiveness central to The Lord’s Prayer? Jesus knows in order to grow closer to Him and enjoy healthy relationships, we must learn how to receive forgiveness… and extend it to others.

One of the most powerful accounts in the Bible about faith and forgiveness is found in Mark 11:25. Here Jesus says, “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions.” What a powerful statement! Jesus is essentially telling us that the power of God in our lives is cut off when we harbor unforgiveness.

In other words, unforgiveness is poison. It is the ultimate power-blocker! 🛑

Forgiveness is essential to our freedom, victory, and joy. If there is any unforgiveness in me towards anyone, I want to address it quickly. I don’t want a single thing to block my connection with God!

Friend, you can be set free from unforgiveness and walk afresh in God’s power… right now! To discover how you can daily receive God’s forgiveness and extend it to others, dive into this message with me…
