Years ago, early in college, I found myself in a place where I was searching for a relationship with God—wondering what He’s like and wanting to live differently. I was looking for more… something different.

You see, I thought life was all about moving fast, partying, and making connections, yet I found myself completely empty from that lifestyle. Halfway through my freshman year, I made the best decision of my life—surrendering my heart to Christ!

Early on, I learned that my decision to give my life to Jesus was just the beginning. In life, so many things fight for our time, our attention, and our energy. If we’re not intentionally deciding to make Jesus our number one priority daily, we can chase the wrong things and quickly get off course.

Friend, I want to encourage you this year to make the daily decision to follow God’s Word, Will, and Way. One practical step in deciding to put God first is choosing to start your day with Him. Romans 12:1 instructs us to …present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Setting aside time each morning for prayer and Bible reading is one of the most powerful decisions you can make!
